Dhulikhel Namobuddha Hike

Dhulikhel Namobuddha Hiking is one of the best one day hiking experiences that take you to the legendary place with the beautiful Buddhist stupa of Namobuddha (1982m) on hillock above Panauti. The place is related to the pre incarnation of Lord Buddha backed by the story that it is the place where kind hearted prince offered his body to a hungry tigress and her five cubs and took rebirth as Lord Buddha.

The hike to Namobuddha starts from Dhulikhel, a place in outskirt of Kathmandu with the most gorgeous scenery and beautiful villages surrounding it. Starting with such scenery around us will be an encouragement already. We hike through beautiful scenery of emerald hills, pine forest and rural villages and accompanied by superb mountain views all the way up.

The stupa in Namobuddha is rich in Thanka Art and Sculptures with superb paintings on the wall of stupa. The hike back is awesome scenery with orange yards on the way and the villages downhill in the lowland of Panauti with typical old Newari settlement and a 17th
century structure of Mahadev which is among the only two of its kind. The way is full of beautiful rice fields and an experience of typical culture of indigenous people of Newari culture till we reach Banepa from where we drive back to Kathmandu.
