Kakani Hiking is one of the popular hiking in Kathmandu to the popular view point of Kakani. Located about 24 km from Kathmandu and 1.5 hours drive from Kathmandu, the view point elevates at 2100m from sea level on the North West ridge of Kathmandu Valley.

This beautiful village of Kakani, being near to Kathmandu Valley, serves as a place with unique and interesting living style and culture of people comprising of mostly Tamangs. A Thai Memorial Park located in the region is dedicated to the 113 victims of a Thai air crash in 1992 and also interesting is the century old summer villa used by British Embassy and now an army training school. The place is also famous for its amazing views of majestic Himalayas of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishanker and a few peaks of Rolwaling Himal.

The place is famous for its peaceful and cool environment where people come to enjoy Himalayan vistas, sunset and away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu and also the specialty of the place is the real taste of Japanese Trout Fish available there. People coming here sometimes reroute the hike to Budhanilkantha via Shivapuri National Park, also famous for picnic and cycling tours.
