Phulchowki Hiking

Phulchowki Hiking is a hiking trial from Kathmandu valley to Phulchowki designed for nature lovers. It comprises of both the cultural feature and the nature itself to it beautiful form but the main focus of the trip is what nature offers in form of beautiful rhododendron forest to snowy mountain and hike on snowy ground in particular season.

The name of the place itself describes the feature of package as ‘Phul’ means flower and ‘Chowki’ means place or post in Nepali, making it the place for flowers and floras. Located at the of 2823 meters, the site is a garden of roses, jasmine, iris and several other species of flowers and the summit rich in forests of Rhododendron. Besides, the top of the peak has a Buddhist shrine of great value for the Buddhist and Hindus going there.

The hike takes start from Godavari, National Botanical Garden and a reserve for many floras and faunas and also a romantic place to be visited. Beside the natural and geographical attraction, the summit of Phulchowki also serves as a great view point for Nepalese mountains residing on the northern part of the country. The right altitude and right weather will access you to breath taking views of these majestic peaks and the beautiful Kathmandu valley itself. The feeling of reaching the summit is like a heaven brought down to earth with the singing of birds, the colors of flowers, the green and red forest colored by rhododendron and the cool weather with bright mountains shining at a distance.
