About Shivapuri Hiking in detail:

Shivapuri Hiking is one of the best preferred hikes from Kathmandu to Shivapuri National Park located in the Northern part of Kathmandu at an elevation of 2563 meters. The hike is ideal for people visiting Nepal and cannot go for longer trek. Besides, the hike can be modified as per the time frame you want to spend on the hike. The interesting fact about Shivapuri is the source of the Holy Bagmati known as Bagdwar.

We commence our hike with a 20 minutes drive to Budhanilkantha Temple, 8 km North of Kathmandu. The conservation area is just 10 min walk away awaiting you with a protected forest area with over 500 species. The hike then starts from south of the area, past the army check point stationed there. We come across the Nagi Gompa; another famous Gompa in Nepal famous with people who want to practice Buddhism and meditation.

The trek is an easy grade trek providing you with the ultimate natural paradise in a short trip. The view of Kathmandu Valley gets more and more magnificent as we rise up and the 2 hours hike to the top is never monotonous. The top of the hill is the perfect place where we enjoy lunch with very beautiful view of the landscapes and hills. As we trail down we get to another beautiful place of Sundarijal rich of natural springs and Rocky River. We then drive back to Kathmandu.
