Tamang Heritage Trek

The Tamang Heritage Trek is a new and exciting trek into the cultural region of Langtang comprising Tibetan tradition practices and gaze upon the lives and culture and tradition and heritages of local Tamang people who are the best in being warmest and most welcoming people of Nepal. Within an easy admission into the region from Kathmandu we trail through close to the Tibetan borders in the circuit rich of its picturesque villages, terraced fields, peaceful valleys, the panoramic views of nearby mountains and also the nature provided hot springs and pool of Tatopani. The newly developed trail starts from Syaphrubesi, about a day long bus trip from Kathmandu valley towards the north heading to Goljung, Gatling, Chilime, Tatopani, Rasuwagadhi and Briddim and to Syaphrubesi. The trial is populated by Tamangs with cultural influence of Tibetan culture. The villages engage into rearing livestock, farming and trading with Kiering which also access you to the living of people there. The customs are very interesting and unique and the festive are very colorful and entertaining: Dawa Dangbo Chhiju (in February), Chuwar Chhiju (November), Yarsang (early June), Dukpa Chhiju (August) and Lhosar (February), full of traditional dances and dresses. A look into the local fort, monastery and exquisite local architecture of the Tamang homes are simply best experience to be taken. The handcrafts from the region are similarly popular. You can also enjoy home stay in Briddim towards the end of the journey as per the trek guidance.
